Description
This is an image of a fairly large wood carving depicting the map of Ojojona, a small beautiful colonial town about 45 minutes outside of Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. The Town of Ojojona was founded more than 400 years ago by the Spanish who wanted to work the gold and silver mines that used to exist back then in that region. At the present time it is still a town, with a population of about 10,000 people. More about this town in my previous 2 images.
Many of the locals work local handicrafts and pottery. This large map is carved by one of the locals and is standing right at the entrance of town in the main square.
All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software.
