On A Slippery Path Kids T-Shirt

This image was taken on a trip that I did to Arizona back in 2011. I came across this canyon by chance on Day 4 of my trip driving towards the Sedona area.

Called Oak Creek Canyon, otherwise known as Slide Rock Canyon, is part of Slide Rock State Park in Arizona. It is named after the famous Slide Rock, a natural water slide formed by the slippery bed of Oak Creek. As the elevation drops from one end to the other, Slide Rock becomes a natural water chute for swimmers and sliders (beware…. it is not as simple as it looks).

This entire area apparently used to be an apple orchard back in the early 1900s. It is located about 7 miles north of Sedona within the Coconino National Forest. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in that area, especially on a hot summer day.
