This is an image of one section of the Great Wall of China known as the Mutianyu Section, which is about a 4 to 5 hours drive north of the City of Beijing. It is considered to be one of the least restored (and least visited) sections of the Great Wall.
The Great Wall of China is the world's longest wall and biggest ancient architecture. It is more than 2,300 years old, and has a stunning array of scenery from the beaches of Qinhuangdao to rugged mountains around Beijing, to a desert corridor between tall mountain ranges at Jiayu Pass. It has an official length is 21,196.18 km (13,170.7 mi). Most of today's relics are from the Ming Dynasty Great Wall with a length of 8,851 km (5,500 mi). It cannot be seen from space by the human eye without aid (as most people believe). It is not a continuous line either; there are side walls, circular walls, parallel walls, and sections with no walls (high mountains or rivers form a barrier instead).
