Description
Las Flores is a small town located in the Honduran department of Lempira. The town is 200 meters away from the paved road. It was first called Las Flores de Santa Bárbara, honoring the image of the saint of that place. It was granted the category of municipality in January 1869. The population in 2015 was estimated at about 9,800 people, with about 90% of them are cross-breed of native Indians and Spanish settlers. Because of the small size of the community, the inhabitants have a very peaceful life that it is very normal for kids to gather at the central park or on streets very late at night.
It took me about 1 hour to visit the town and meet few of the locals.
Many of the doors and windows here are decorated with mural-like paintings depicting the every-day life in this town. This is an image of one of these windows.
All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software.
