Description
This iconic statue is a 25-foot monument situated next to the Memorial to Bob Hope And The Military just south of Seaport Village in San Diego. The sculpture is a three-dimensional interpretation of the famous World War II photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York on August 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day. The original statue was first installed in Sarasota, Florida, then was moved to San Diego, California and New York City. Other versions have been installed in Hamilton, New Jersey; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and Normandy, France.
All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software.
