The Christ at El Picacho is a monument which stands on the hill of El Picacho in the north area of Tegucigalpa (capital of Honduras). It is a famous landmark for anyone who's ever visited the city of Tegucigalpa and is classified as one of the 30 wonders of Honduras.
The Mountain where the statue stands looks south over the city's central district (cities of Tegucigalpa and Comayaguela). At the top, besides the Christ statue, there is a small zoo, a replicated Mayan temple, and the United Nations Park. Hiking up the mountain is not a difficult hike, and it is a nice place to spend the day walking around the entire area.
The Christ statue itself stands at a height of 4,353 feet above sea level. It weighs about 2,500 tons and is about 98 feet in total height (65 feet high on a pedestal of 33 feet).
