Artist's Description

Smith Rock State Park is a state park located in central Oregon's High Desert near the town of Bend. It has been recently named one of the 7 Wonders of Oregon, according to Travel Oregon, the state's travel commission.

Smith Rock comprises of many sheer cliffs and towering hunks of golden red volcanic rock crags jutting up from a windy river canyon. It is generally considered the birthplace of modern American sport climbing. It is a very popular place for sport climbing, traditional climbing, multi-pitch climbing, and bouldering.

This is an image taken from the main highway leaving the town of Mitchell (with its Painted Hills) and heading towards Smith Rock.

All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses.
