Description
The Chateau de Versailles has vast gardens (and I mean VAST)!!! They are laid out in a formal French style and are famed for their geometrically aligned terraces, tree-lined paths. But most notably, they are famed for the ponds.
I can’t tell you exactly how many ponds there are, but there I was told about 50 of them. I know that the Bassin de Neptune is the largest (the one that is situated in the main yard right in front of the Palace; shown in my image titled “Sculptures In T he Garden #2” and in my other image titled “Grand View Of The Palace #1” ).
The image shown here is taken from one of the ponds that I came across while walking one of the tree-lined paths in the garden closer to the main Palace building. I decided to frame the image with the statues and the sculptures rather than on the large pond itself in order to get a better sense of scale.
I hope you like this.
