Description
This is another image driving up the main road to Arches NP.
Arches is a national park that is situated in the in eastern part of Utah, about 4 miles (6 km) north of Moab. The park consists of about 76,700 acres of high desert located on the Colorado Plateau. The highest elevation in the park is at about 5,650 feet and the lowest elevation is at 4,085 feet at the visitor center. The area was originally designated as a national monument in April 1929, but later got re-designated as a national park in November 1971. The park is presently administered by the National Park Service.
Arches NP has more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the well-known Delicate Arch, as well as a multitude of unique geological resources and formations. It contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.
All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software.
