Description
Pima is a view point along the West Rim Drive just before you get to Hermit’s Rest at the end of the scenic road. At Pima Point, it seems that the views are little limited because the canyon’s edge is quite densely wooded and the overlook is at the end of a side canyon.
But at the northernmost corner of Pima Point there is nothing to block an amazing view for over 40 miles along the Grand Canyon, from Bright Angel Canyon to the east all the way west to Powell Plateau and the Great Scenic Divide. From Pima Point you will also see several canyon landmarks, including Cope Butte, Granite Rapids and The Alligator, Travertine Canyon, and Monument Creek (to the east). Directly opposite is a fine view down Ninety Four Mile Creek.
All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software.
